Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 - 3:58 pm Just had a contractor over here to look at the house and give an estimate on how the water is getting in and what we can do to stop it. *rolls her eyes* So very frustrating. Not necessarily because the work is so great, but because I get to be the one to sit here and listen to the report, then repeat the words back to the 'rents. Yeah... great idea. C'est la vie. The contractor is going to call back to make arrangements with Dad for when the two of them can go around the house and look at stuff and then DAD will know, and I don't have to be responsible for something I can't fix. Heh. Anyway... It seems that the people who put the siding on the house didn't do a very good job. there's a specific way in which one goes about putting siding on the house, and when they do it this specific way, water doesn't slip inside and create mold and mildew and structure damage under the pristine looking siding. Heh. It gets better, but I'll save the long tale for another time, when I'm more comfortable and more interested in spouting off about the damage to the house. Bottom line? Very spendy fix. Oh, and if you're going to pour a concrete "stoop" Angle it AWAY from the wood of the house. Oh, I know, Common sense, you say. HA and again I say, HA! *wanders off muttering* yeah, it doesn't flood... no flooding problems... no leaks. uh huh... here's your non-disclosure statement, bend over bubba!
